NetALERT is an emergency response software suite that resides on a highly secure server system at a hosting facility with redundant hardware backup and multi-backbone support for virtual 100% uptime online performance. All FireALERT products communicate status and alarm information to the NetALERT servers. This data is analyzed by Ambient serer software and alarm information is quickly distributed based on user programmed rules. Fire alerts can be distributed to Emergency Response Centers, local fire stations, off duty personnel, an anyone else who has access to the internet, cell phones or e-mail pagers. Maintenance and vandalism alerts can be sent to support personnel or police departments. The status of all fielded FireALERT units can be reviewed at any time through a secure web site. Users are not required to dedicate a computer or monitor the FireALERT system. A utility program called AgentALERT can operate the background of any Windows TM system PC computer. This program queries the database and, if an alert condition occurs, issues an alarm sound and brings up the local web browser to display the relevant information. This can all be done safely behind secure network firewalls. These response options are designed to promptly issue warnings of fire threat to responders, the community, and all parties involved in the response process.

The combination of NetALERT and FireALERT dramatically enhances the ability of fire departments to respond quickly to fires. A FireALERT will report a fire within 2 to 3 minutes. NetALERT will distribute the alarm with an average latency of less than 1 minute. The NetALERT map view gives the fire personnel the birds-eye view of the situation to allow them to efficiently deploy manpower and equipment. It also allows situation progress, field commanders can distribute firefighters as needed to cover new threat or to avoid entrapment.

Future planned enhancements to NetALERT will provide topography and GIS overlays that will provide detailed site specific information. This information will increase fire responders' ability to deal with fire events with the optimum deployment of equipment and personnel. Ambient is also planning the introduction of reverse 911 emergency systems, voice over cellular / phone annunciation of fire alarm information, and voice paging.

NetALERT has been designed, from the ground up, to offer minimum alarm latency to the professional and volunteer firefighting community enabling rapid response to fire threat. Minutes count:

Grass fires can grow by 27 acres every 6 minutes
Grass and shrub fires an grow 5 acres every 6 minutes
Tall chaparral fires can grow by 36 acres every 6 minutes.
