Energy Storage: Supercapacitor array. Battery technology is not employed.

Energy Management: Patented “Dark Start” technology allowing system to cycle from full energy to zero energy and back to full energy without loss of system integrity. Technology survives extremely slow rates of energy accumulation without electronic latch up.

Scanning Imager: Patented circular horizontal 360° scanning imager with incremental stepper positioning system. Vertical fields of view available as follows:

  •   Standard view +/- 22.5 degrees
  •   Hill Top down view 0 to -22.5 degrees
  •   Valley Bottom up view 0 to +22.5 degrees

Infra-Red Fire Signature Detection: Detector sensitivity is to a specific infra-red signature. An onboard smart processor analyzes the resulting detector signals using proprietary Spectral Resonance Imaging (SRI) algorithms, looking for the presence of a fire signature over background levels. This assures that the occurrence of false alarms is reduced to an absolute minimum from non-fire based sources of infra-red. Fire signature detection is achieved in under 4 minutes from first detection of a possible signature.

Suppression Control: When the FireALERT needs to control a compatible suppression system, it send control signals to an ActALERT which interfaces with a compatible control valve to provide this activation function.

System Construction: The components of the system utilize specialized materials that will include polycarbonates, dicast aluminum, and sapphire. In addition, the FireALERT-DCS System is encased in time proven enclosure technology developed by Ambient over a 14-year period to ensure reliability and survivability over a wide range of environmental conditions.
